The Sporting Trust supports Sporting 87 Football Club with specialist activities for their ‘aspirational’ stream of players in teams at U14, U15 and U16. The aim is to lead the more motivated youth players along a clear and structured pathway to the Club’s Thurlow Nunn U18 team.
All current U14/15/16 players are encouraged to take part in ‘Aspire’ activities. The types of activities offered are: additional training sessions coached by highly qualified staff and guests, match experiences against top streamed opposition, and opportunities to experience our current U18 Thurlow Nunn games at the AFC Sudbury stadium. There is no additional subs fee for Aspire sessions or matches. Typically activities are held each school holiday.
The Club presently has two U18 teams, one mainstream Saturday morning team, and one elite midweek evening team (the Thurlow Nunn League team) which provides an accelerated pathway into adult First Team football. Players can be included in the midweek elite U18 Thurlow Nunn squad at U16.
